Yesterday we had future Bison visit Ben Reifel. They were able to hear multiple musical performances, get a tour and hear from Mr. H & the counselors. We can't wait to welcome to into building in the fall as 6 graders!

Pete was awarded the 2021-2022 Girls Basketball Lower Level Coach of the Year by the South Dakota Basketball Coaches Association.
Recently, Mrs. Rachael Anderson in our counseling department became the recipient of the Mary W. Lark Humanitarian Award from the SD Counseling Association. Rachael is so deserving of the award. We are blessed to have her as part of our Ben Reifel Family and a member of our counseling department. Congratulations, Rachael!
8th grade Social Studies students attended the Siouxland Heritage Courthouse Museum Civil War camp. Camp life, soldier gear, and drilling were taught to participants as they begin the Civil War unit during the final days of school.
Ben Reifel students helped set up the brand new garden beds with the help of staff throughout today. Thank you to all the staff for setting up a fun activity for students to end their week with.

The Ben's Garden Committee is excited to get the word out about their engraved plaque fundraiser, which will support the development of an outdoor classroom that can be used by ALL staff and students.

Earlier this year, 8th grade accelerated SS students participated in the National History Day program, a year-long academic program focused on historical research, interpretation, and creative expression for 6th- to 12th-grade students. Four 8th grade students qualified for the state competition which was hosted by SDSU April 13th.
We are excited to announce that Mollie Kruse from team 8-3 placed 1st in the Individual Junior Exhibit category for her project entitled "Who Owns the Black Hills?" She will represent our school and district at the NHD national contest which will be held virtually this summer. We are proud of this amazing achievement. Congratulations, Mollie

8th grade ELA teachers ended the week by dressing up as Effie Trinket to introduce a new read aloud to students. They remained in character throughout class periods & brought some joy to end the week.
Today we celebrate our educational assistants. These individuals work each day to meet the needs of our students and assist our staff. Our school would be lost without them! They help us make BRMS a great place to learn and grow.
Today we celebrate the best clerical staff in the business. They truly are the best group of administrative assistants we could ask for. Each day they go above and beyond to work with our students, families, and our staff. We cannot thank each and every one of them enough for all they do.

Due to demand, we have one final opportunity to order a yearbook. Please see the details below on how to secure one.
Beginning Wednesday April 27th and through Friday April 29th, students can meet with Yearbook advisors in the library from 8:40-8:55am to order a yearbook. $17 cash or check (made out to BRMS) for softcover book only. No other form needed.
Orders will be submitted 9am on Friday April 29th and there will be no additional copies ordered or on hand after this time.

The grand staircase has been getting great use by the track and field team as they prepare for upcoming meets. We are proud of how hard our students are training to represent the Bison community.

Hello BRMS families!
Please plan to join us for the Ben Reifel Middle School Color-a-Thon fun run and walk. Students will raise funds for their school and more importantly, build community as we come together with splashes of non-toxic color powder and fun! We're hoping for students, families (siblings, parents, grandparents, aunts, uncles, everyone!) and staff to all enjoy the afternoon together!!! All are welcome.
Friday, May 13 registration begins at 4 and the run starts at 4:30 P.M
